Diane Halfman

Diane Halfman was an undercover cop for the San Diego Police Department where she experienced a unique perspective of life behind the scenes. Diane took her years of experience to pioneer the creation of her own company called SpaLife which stands for Seek Power Always.

As the host of the Live Your SpaLife Podcast and as the RESET Specialist Diane travels the country speaking, consulting, conducting workshops dedicated to helping overwhelmed women entrepreneurs move from a life of emergency to emergence.

It was never Diane Halfman’s plan to walk the streets and become a prostitute, yet alone get involved with vicious gangs and narcotics, but her life choices put her in grave circumstances. Danger became a way of life for Diane forcing her to carry a gun in her hand every day for 10 years.  You see, Diane Halfman was an undercover cop for the San Diego Police department. Her job was to infiltrate the gangs and prostitutes, bust the John’s, bring ’em down and clean up the streets.

Diane understands fear and survival instincts—she lived them, and knows what it takes to find your grit, perseverance and power to push through any challenge. After being medically retired from the police department as a result of a training accident, Diane took her years of experience along with her Master’s in Human Resources Management and Certification as an Ultimate Game of Life Coach to pioneer the creation of her own company called SpaLife.  SPA is an acronym for Seek Power Always. Her podcast, “Live Your SpaLife” is a call to action for all women to define and create the life they truly want.

As the Reality RESET Specialist Diane Halfman travels the country speaking, consulting, conducting workshops and seminars dedicated to helping overwhelmed women entrepreneurs move from a life of emergency to emergence. Diane possesses a unique set of skills and life experiences that allow her to coach, guide and demonstrate the very techniques she used to RESET her own life and those of countless others. Her passion is to teach women how to be their own cop – walking in the world with more confidence, optimism and power.

Three Key Points:

There’s a term that Diane coined called “the clutter to drama ratio.” The more clutter you have in your space, the more drama you’ll experience in your life.

Clutter doesn’t have to only occur in your environment (i.e. home, car, work, etc.). This can happen mentally as well, and mental clutter can cause just as big an impact as environmental clutter.

Many of us tend to put too much on our plates (metaphorically speaking). Huge to-do lists, too many things going on, and feeling bad for “not getting everything done.” We need to set ourselves up to win instead.

Show Notes:

9:18 — Experiencing a series of wake-up calls, Diane shares how moments of “failure” are just steppingstones to moments of success.

13:01 — Sometimes we think the road to success is a straight line. That’s the furthest from the truth. There’s always detours, whether they feel devastating or not, that act as insights for our journeys.

20:00 — Diane shares how someone can know if they’re “winning” by being intentional with what you want to do. There’s a difference between thinking of where you’d want to be, versus what that situation would mean for you.

21:54 — “Using a GPS doesn’t work unless you start moving forward.” — Diane Halfman

22:57 — It’s always a good idea to clarify what somebody’s asking you to do. The more you can break things down into smaller pieces what someone’s trying to say to you, the better you can communicate.

24:15 — Diane reveals some never-before-shared plans to make a huge difference in the community.

28:49 — We don’t know what we don’t know. It’s hard for people to see those blind spots, that’s why it’s useful having a mentor who is steps ahead of you. Diane shares the importance of having a coach and cut loose people that are holding you back.
